LIGHTING THE LANTERNS AT DUSK LanternFest – Reviving Old Traditions LanternFest, the only local event that incorporates the old European tradition of the lighted lantern parade at dusk while still remaining uniquely Austin is being held on March 29, 2008 and is hosted by Sri Atmananda Memorial School. Entry is free. LanternFest is a community event, open to the public. 
Beginning at 4pm and ending at dusk, the free annual event features o live music o children's activities o giant inflatables o scrumptious food o lantern making o artisan's booths o fantastic raffle baskets (only $2/raffle ticket!!) o and much more! The school will host an Open House in the Lower Primary building from 4:30-6:00 pm. The day will culminate with a twilight parade of children, adults and handmade lanterns weaving through the stately grounds of the former Perry Mansion built in 1927 and now owned by the nonprofit Sri Atmananda Memorial School. Its door opened in 1995 and graduated its first class in 2007.
