Successful Transitions: Preparing Yourself and Your Child for Success at the Upper Primary (UP)

·         Has your child asked you a question about the UP, and you haven’t known the answer?
·         Have you wondered what the academic and social environment look like at the UP?
·         Have you ever wondered what transition issues typically arise for kids entering the UP? 

WHAT IS IT?  The Parent Council and SAMS staff have created a pilot event to help LP parents and parents new to the UP become more familiar with the UP and how it supports the growth of our kids on many levels during the pre-teen years.  Experienced parents who have kids at the UP, Jr. High and/or High School will be talking about their experiences.  Ross Carnes, the UP Campus Head and Pattye will also be addressing your questions.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?  All LP and UP parents are invited to attend.  Those with children who will enter the UP in the next year or two should definitely come.  UP parents with fourth graders will also benefit from attending.  Note:  This may be the only event addressing this topic this year, so we highly encourage you to attend if you can make it!

WILL CHILDCARE BE PROVIDED?  Yes, but you must request childcare to  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   by Nov.  11th  to secure a spot.  Please plan on feeding your children dinner first.  Childcare will cost $5 per child, and you should drop them off at the Lower Primary Campus.
